Nashville is known as Music City. And while this might be one of the best places in the world for sighting country and rock stars alike, the truth is that the city has much more to offer tourists than simply its barrage of musical venues. For those that are headed to Nashville with your family from your London Ontario stable or are in the area for a conference with others from work here is a short guide to must-see attractions while you're in the area.

For those that need to see some of the ways that this city has influences American and world music, two of the best places to visit are the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The latter takes up an entire city block and features live music on a daily basis. The Grand Ole Opry is more than seventy-five years old and has hosted some of the largest musical acts in the world, including Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, and Taylor Swift. Even if you're from trendy Toronto condos and don't have a single country song in your iTunes you will still find things to enjoy at both of these venues.

They say that the most interesting people are always looking to learn new things and there are lots of chances to do that for those that are visiting the Nashville area. This is the home of the Adventure Science Center and the Hermitage, which is the former home of President Andrew Jackson. The Science Center allows you to explore the universe in the Sudekum Planetarium and participate in several interactive exhibits. The Hermitage has everything form the 1830s farmhouse of the seventh American president to slave cabins and horse-drawn wagon rides. If you're traveling with teenagers to kids still in cloth diapers these locations will provide fun for everyone.

While music might be the most prominent of the arts in Nashville, it is certainly not the only one that thrives here. The Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art has been named as one of the nation's best public gardens and the museum allows you to see priceless works in the setting of a Georgian era mansion. This is a great place to take someone on a romantic date or to relax after a conference with Dennis Gartman. In terms of the performing arts, you might want to spend the evening with the Nashville Opera, the Nashville Children's Theatre or attend an event at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

If you're planning to attend a series of attractions while you're in the city than you may want to consider investing in a Total Access Pass. This could be great if you're organizing events for those coming in from New York to Huntsville Ontario catering companies or if you're simply traveling alone.
